Position Summary:

Primary focus of this position is to plan, organize and schedule customer orders and materials which assures the most effective return on resources. Assures attainment / customer fulfilment and machine and people optimization. Ensures material and resources are available to meet customer demands.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Plant One for optimal customer delivery & satisfaction, machine utilization and resource management.
  • Maintain the Plant 1 warehouse and attending resources (direct reports) to optimize inventory, space utilization and efficiency.
  • Manage and optimize all pertinent databases, including inventory to ensure reliable reporting of operational information.
  • Ensure plant schedule is optimized to meet customer requirements while minimizing scrap and minimizing product changeover.
  • Responsible for cost controls and optimizing processes related to material forecasting and usage, production output, labor cost, staffing requirements and duty assignments, scrap rate, change-over times, etc. to ensure all activities are value added as part of optimized plant operating costs.
  • Establish/maintain effective working relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Successfully partner with purchasing and supply chain personnel for proper processing of materials.
  • Ensure that established policies, rules and regulations and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and display good work ethic by modeling appropriate behaviors.
  • Participate in maintaining the plant through good manufacturing processes (GMP) and good safety practices.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all department processes and equipment towards effective problem solving and troubleshooting.

Education / Qualifications / Background Requirements:

  • Preferred technical college education or equivalent experience in highly quantitative, databased manufacturing environments.
  • Strong math and analytical / problem solving skills. Must have strong Excel skills.
  • Exhibits a “can do” / “lead by example” attitude with willingness to learn, take on responsibilities and challenges independently and within a team.
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills combined with ability to interact with and provide guidance to colleagues at all levels.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced management and managing multiple shifts and manufacturing personnel
  • Other key skills: attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks, results and dead-line orientation, prioritization & goal setting, time management skills.

 

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Capable of lifting 50+ pounds unassisted
  • Able to work / stand for extended periods of time
  • Climb stairs, crouch, kneel, bend
