Maintenance Technician-Injection Molding
Description:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, modification, troubleshooting, and maintenance of new and existing equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for a career-minded, outgoing, individual who is a self-starter and wants to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. The role may involve additional responsibilities as they become necessary.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5am-5pm or 5pm to 5am. Weekends if deemed necessary
- Hourly Rate: starting at $25.00
- Location: P8
DUTIES
- Perform difficult machining operations that require complicated set-ups and a high degree of accuracy.
- Troubleshoot to determine the cause of problems and perform repairs as needed.
- Set up machine tools and operate various tool room machines and equipment, making necessary shop computations.
- Work with models, blueprints, drawings or other written/oral specifications.
- Confer with Plant Manager to determine layout of equipment.
- Create and/or modify existing end of arm tooling & automation equipment.
- Assist engineering, quality assurance, maintenance & production with layouts & creating secondary equipment.
- Assemble & operate equip through trial run to verify set-up.
- Modify previously installed equipment to ensure compatibility with new units, or install safety devices or attachments to old units.
- Install automation equipment on injection molding machines.
- Interface equipment with molding machines to achieve an integrated work cell.
- Troubleshoot solid state electronic circuitry and read electrical schematics.
- Make adjustments and/or recommendations on mechanisms to keep system in operation.
- Program various PLC’s.
- Purchase and maintain inventory of spare parts to minimize lost production time.
- Perform preventative maintenance on automation equipment and maintain records.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidates should have experience in an injection molding facility
- Well-rounded training in machine shop and tool room practices (acquired through a formal apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience)
- 3+ years’ experience in mold maintenance
- Ability to read detailed engineering drawings
- Analytical skills, mechanical aptitude and PC experience a must
- Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude
- Organizational skills and maintain good attendance
- Leadership / management skills a PLUS.
- PC experience / PC Designing Software.
- Ability to effectively communicate with Technical / Management Personnel.
- Ability to lift 50lbs or more
