Description:

The company is seeking a Regional Sales Manager within its Polymer & Additive Division to first and foremost generate new business and customer relationships in a fast-paced, high-energy, customer-focused environment. The right candidate must have a successful track record of closing new customers and thrives in ‘the hunt’ for new business within the Southeastern US. The role is based in the greater Atlanta/Charlotte area for easy airport access to meet prospects and customers. This role reports to the National Sales Director of the division and is best suited for a hands-on self-starter who wants to have an impact by delivering results in an entrepreneurial environment. This is a career development position with high earnings potential.

 

Requirements:

* Minimum 3 years of demonstrated B2B new customer and new business track record – MUST HAVE experience with resin, polymers, additives or chemicals sold to manufacturing plants.

* Sales hunter DNA with experience in identifying, developing, closing and growing new customer accounts.

* Demonstrated business and commercial savvy, with a strong orientation for sales/profit results.

* An ability to build relationships at all levels of an account, combined with a customer service mentality.

* Good with data analysis in order to determine trends regarding historical sales/production, product purchases/output and buying/purchasing patterns.

* Minimum 60% travel within the territory (including overnight stays), with regular visits to Amcor’s headquarters in Thomson, GA.

* Strong communication and organizations skills, a team player!

* BS/BA from a 4-year college/university.

 

Responsibilities:

* Meet or exceed sales targets and other performance objectives including prospecting, customer visits, sales pipeline management.

* The primary mission is to develop new customer accounts in geographic (Southeast) and application (extrusion, molding, etc.) target markets through proactive networking, referrals, prospecting, and cold calling. Take prospects through the sales process by addressing their needs and closing new accounts.

* Potentially grow existing customer accounts by maintaining strong relationships, understanding customers’ business and purchasing needs, proactively identify new opportunities for additional sales (both within the account as well as within other companies/contacts in their network).

* Expected daily in-field prospecting and customer calls as well as regular travel and visits to company’s headquarters in Thomson, GA.

* Communicate daily with sales team/management on the status of sales opportunities (funnel), orders, product delivery, call/activity reporting and customer concerns.

* Minimum 60% travel, including overnight stays, to meet customers and prospects.

* Maintain and develop product and technical knowledge in the plastics industry.

* Contribute to the overall team effort and other sales related duties may be assigned.
