Position Summary:

The Warehouse Lead position is responsible for managing the safe, effective and efficient flow of pallets and finished goods, received goods and other product which may be boxed or in other containers. This position is primarily, but not exclusively focused in the warehouse area of Plant 3 & Plant 7.  Fork Lift certification is required for this position. This position is responsible for coordinating shipments and movement of material between Amcor locations as well as receiving, transferring, off loading and pumping material from rail cars to silos as well as proper and safe storage of ink and other liquid materials is

  • Schedule: Mon-Thurs from 8am – 4pm and Friday from 8am-2:30pm
  • Hourly Starting Rate: $16.50/hr

  • Reports: Inventory Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of inventory locations and proper forklift operation for storing pallets and containers.
  • Ability to prepare all pallets for shipment with completed and accurate scanning and paperwork.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork as required, giving particular attention to product weights and scrap.
  • Knowledge of inventory locations and proper storage requirements for various components, resins and additives.
  • Knowledge or Right to Know requirements for all materials within Plant 1.
  • Knowledge of storage requirements for all flammable material.
  • Ability to maintain inventory locations in good condition as well as perform inventory counts and reports to the Inventory & Scheduling Manager.
  • Provide support for all production lines as needed.
  • Safe operation of the fork lift at all times
  • Package product according to instructions
  • Keep extrusion lines, equipment, and surrounding areas clean and orderly.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork as required, giving particular attention to product weights and scrap.
  • Weigh and scan all finished goods in the data acquisition system
  • Palletizing and banding completed product
  • Perform continuous inspections of product both visual as well as through the use of micrometers and record product and process parameters.
  • Ability to shut down machines properly
  • Ability to set temperatures, counters, winders and bag machines per job
  • Ability to read and understand each job order
  • Ability to make minor adjustments on winders such as speed, tension and core alignments on shafts

 

Basic Skills:

  • Fork Lift Certified
  • Cut plastic from cores using a utility knife and wearing proper PPE
  • Cut cores using a table saw
  • Maintain a clean environment in all areas of the facility
  • Using the correct sized pallet, stacking finished goods on the pallet, and wrapping and labeling a finished pallet per customer specifications
  • Inspect for quality per specification sheet
  • They must be attentive and self-motivated
  • Read and comprehend a standard US English tape measure
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by shift supervisor or facility management

Education / Qualifications / Background Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 2+ years working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Capable of lifting 50+ pounds unassisted
  • Able to work on foot for long periods of time
  • Climb stairs, crouch, kneel, bend
  • Reliable mode of transportation
